BRIEF
As beauty trends move toward natural and holistic products, design aesthetics have followed suit by producing minimalist branding and packaging design. Packaging now exhibits subdued colors and a focus on hierarchy and composition rather than the bright colors and wacky flavors or scents of years passed. I have updated Chapstick’s packaging to reflect today’s beauty values and trends. By focusing on ingredients first, Chapstick reinforces their commitment to natural and nourishing products. Icons for each line are minimal, easily recognizable, and point to the different benefits of each lip balm. Package color tint reimagines classic identifiable colors that reiterate the different nourishing qualities of the ingredients. The satin finish and partially transparent cap of each package is modern and sleek to set Chapstick apart from the other competition on the shelf.
